A Loss, A Walk, A Goal

Senior Chief James Clark is a friend of my Family, we were stationed in Japan at the same time he and his wonderful family were stationed there. We became good friends and transferred back to the States around the same time. The Clark family transferred to Texas while we ended up in Florida.

Why am I telling you this may you ask? Well because James lost his Sister this year to Cancer. While she was battling he had signed up for the Susan G. Komen 3 Day event in Texas. He is ALMOST at his goal for donations. Here is what James has to say on the Susan G. Komen page

Why in the world would I want to walk 60 miles over three days and sleep in a PINK tent when I'm not walking?
I have lost both of my sisters to cancer within the last 6 months and my mother when I was 21 years old.  The toll this disease has taken on my family is astronomical to say the least.  I can no longer sit on the sidelines and continue to watch people suffer, I have to do what I can to make a difference.
Did you know....
- Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer and is the leading cause of cancer death among women worldwide
- About 1.6 million new cases of invasive breast cancer occurred among women around the world in 2010
- About 425,000 women around the world DIED of breast cancer in 2010
- Every 19 seconds, somewhere in the world, someone is diagnosed with breast cancer
- Every 74 seconds, somewhere in the world, someone dies from breast cancer
My Mother, Mother-in-Law, Aunt, and Sister were one of those 74 seconds.  All of them were powerful women, more powerful than any of us can imagine.  They all fought a brave fight and are an inspiration to everyone.  I have seen the affects and want to do something about it.
Me, 60 miles, and a pink tent!!!!  Give up your Mocha for one day...  Give today...
Please support me as I take an amazing journey in the fight to end breast cancer! The Susan G. Komen 3-Day TM is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. Net proceeds from the 3-Day are invested in breast cancer research and community programs.

If you can help Senior Chief Clark reach his goal please donate HERE
any amount will do because it all adds up!

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read about James Clark and
his commitment! Best of Luck James!
