Valentines Day Cards

Our first ever Spring Mini catalog is filled with adorable stamps, embellishments, and other goodies for all your upcoming celebrations. We hope we’ve been inspiring you to create some super adorable paper crafts for Valentine’s Day.  How fun would it be to create handmade cards for all of your loved ones!

Today’s project uses the new So Sweet stamp set from the Spring Mini.  It’s so much fun to experiment with the FSJ color palette. Here we tried to find the perfect combination to recreate conversation hearts, the ever-present candy of Valentine’s Day. The bright pastel colors look amazing together, especially the way they layer and overlap together. Once all of the supplies are out to create a card, why not whip up a cute box or bag to coordinate. The pre-printed Valentine’s Day bread tags are such a versatile product. Sure they are that perfect ready-made embellishment for adding as a gift tag to a Treat Box, but they are also darling when treated as an actual embellishment used for layering on a card front with a cluster of other die-cuts and stamped images to create a Valentine for that special someone.
When paired with patterned paper and layered with just a few extra bits of sparkle they go from a simple piece of printed paper to an over-the-top symbol of love and adoration in a matter of minutes.

Burst with love this Valentine’s Day! Start with a Whip Cream card base and stamp the Postage Stamp ATS in Black Licorice ink along with a texture stamp from the House to Home Stamp Set to build a base layer.  Then add several overlapping hearts die-cut using the Basic Box Window Plates in a variety of complementary colors of cardstock and finish it off with a heart die-cut from the corrugated Treat Box.

These layers built upon the bold black & white card base and patterned paper layers make for a striking card design that let the vibrant colors of the cardstock pop!
