Richard's Tuesday Tip

Richard’s Tuesday Tip: Stamping a Background

Hey everyone Richard here! Even though my travel schedule has been crazy, I still love sharing and teaching you new techniques!  It truly is one of my passions to share my love for creating and crafting with all of you.

In fact, I want to make sure you’ve heard about the Be Amazing Tour! It’s going to be..well… AMAZING!  Think a huge crafting party with an explosion of color.  We are doing a full day of live demos and make ‘n’ take projects.  If you are interested in registering just click here and if you have any questions leave a comment below!

I do love crafting just for the fun of it, but I love creating for someone special.  It seems the Journey Crew got a little bug recently, so I wanted to leave them with some well wishes to feel better soon. Today, I’m going to show you a fun background stamping technique!

Here’s what you’ll need:
Hello Puddles Stamp Set SS-0251 | Brush Strokes Stamp Set SS-0205 | Ink Splat Stamp AT-0108 | Journey Circles Die Set DI-0039 | Beach Breeze True Color Fusion Ink IP-0044 | Pool Play True Color Fusion Ink IP-0051 | Be Cool Journey Tape AC-0165 | Bright Day Journey Tape AC-0164 | Paper Clip Elements AC-0102 | Beach Breeze Journey Thread AC-0131 | Cool Pool Silk IP-0105 | Designer Vellum Prints PP-0008 | Whip Cream Cardstock CS-0040 | Lemon Drop Cardstock CS-0018

Step 1: To create background, stamp Brush Strokes stamp in Pool Play ink.

Step 2:  Then stamp Ink Splat ATS with Beach Breeze, using a stamping off method, so the image stamped on the cardstock is a second generation image.

Step 3: Next stamp the Hello Puddles images using Beach Breeze ink. Quick Tip: If you plan to create multiples of this design, stamp an entire sheet of cardstock with the background print, and then trim it into four pieces.

Step 4: Finish off with a splattering of Cool Pool Silk and don’t forget to add some cutie patootie embellishments like our washi tape, which is buy one get one during our Plus One Promotion.

Step 5: Pin this tip!
